Surveyor Training Program
SA IMET has commenced unit and full hospital accreditations using the new accreditation standards and requires Trainee Medical Officers, Directors of Clinical Training, Clinicians and Medical Education Officers to be part of the survey teams. An Accreditation Surveyor Training Program has been designed for new and existing accreditation surveyors. The first training session was conducted on Thursday 5th May 2011 with 22 participants attending the three hour training session. Feedback showed that this program was well received by participants.
This has allowed SA IMET to establish a pool of trained surveyors who can undertake unit and hospital accreditations. These surveyors now have the opportunity to participate in small scale survey visits to further develop their accreditation knowledge and experience.
The next Accreditation Surveyor Training Program will be run in late 2011 or early 2012 in order to maintain and increase the pool of surveyors. If you are interested in becoming a surveyor for unit and hospital accreditations please register your interest via an email.
