Assessor Training and Candidate Preparation
Workplace based assessment is designed to provide feedback on skills essential to the provision of good clinical care by observing an actual clinical encounter. This takes on the format of a 'long case' with the candidate taking a history, conducting a relevant focussed examination, outline findings and forming a management plan. Immediate feedback will be provided on the performance.
As a newly appointed SA IMET assessor (independent of the hospital supervisors) to carry out workplace based assessment of IMGs on the Competent Authority pathway, you are required to view a series of DVDs designed by the Australian Medical Council to train in this form of assessment method used by SA IMET. SA IMET suggest candidates also view the Australian Medical Council DVDs as preparation for their first clinical exam with an SA IMET assessor
This training material will be available soon.
