Communiqué from the Medical Board of Australia: Granting general registration to medical practitioners in the standard pathway who hold an AMC certificate.

Competent Authority Pathway

IMGs eligible for the 'Competent Authority pathway' are encouraged to make direct contact with SA training hospitals to negotiate a position. The Medical Board require that eligible IMGs on the Competent Authority pathway undergo 12 months of supervised training to achieve full registration. For more information visit www.ahpra.gov.au

IMGs eligible for the 'Specialist pathway' are encouraged to make direct contact with the SA training hospitals and negotiate a position this is done alongside liaison with the relevant College.
