AMC/JMO DATABASE
About the Database
- The AMC/JMO database is the central point for international medical graduates in the AMC examination process to register their expression of interest to work in a SA Teaching Hospital.
- The contact point at SA IMET is the AMC/JMO database manager racheal.kennedy@health.sa.gov.au / telephone 8226 7123.
- Each health unit (hospital) nominates one contact person in their unit responsible for communication related to AMC/JMOs.
- The database serves as a tool for health units to use in employment of AMC/JMO doctors.
- Expressions of interest (EOI) are accepted all through the year however, reactivation of EOI must be updated in June of each year.
- EOI are checked for completeness (ensuring the applicant will meet the requirements for medical board registration), entered on the database.
- As vacancies arise at the JMO level health units refer to applications (as provided by SA IMET) and if interested in interviewing an applicant the database manager must be notified immediately to ensure only one health unit at a time is liaising with the applicant.
- This applicant then becomes ineligible for interview or offers of employment from other health units until the first health unit makes a decision.
- Should interest in the applicant arise subsequently from other health units they will be 'put on hold' until a decision on employment is made by the first interested health unit.
- Whatever the outcome of the selection process the database manager must be notified immediately.
