Occupational English Test (OET) & International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Preparation Classes
It is a requirement of registration as a health professional in Australia to gain a pass in either the IELTS or the OET. A grade of at least a B pass in all four sections of the OET or a score of at least 7 in all four sections of the IELTS is required.
The Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) offer preparation classes for the OET, IELI is based at Flinders University and offers regular OET preparation classes throughout the year. These classes deal specifically with the four different areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, as well as pronunciation.
Many health professional students who have completed the IELI OET preparation classes have had success in gaining registration and are now working in SA hospitals.
