Professional Development Program for Registrars (PDPR)
It has been recognised for some time that in addition to their clinical responsibilities, registrars play a key role in the teaching, supervision and management of junior doctors, with very little formal training being offered to support them.
The Professional Development Program for Registrars (PDPR), described recently, as 'An eye opener and very useful in facing daily challenges' is a 2–day workshop aimed at developing a range of pertinent skills. Topics include effective teamwork, communication, conflict resolution and sessions designed to build participants' leadership and management capabilities.
This important leadership program continues to be rolled out to registrars across SA with several 2–day programs proposed for 2012.
Please refer to PDPR page for 2012 program dates and more information.
If you are interested in becoming a trainer and assisting with facilitating these programs, please email saimet@health.sa.gov.au
