Facilitator training workshop
Teaching on the Run is a nationally recognised program that enables clinical supervisors to apply adult education principles in their everyday work situation.
This free workshop provides clinical supervisors with the skills and knowledge to be an accredited facilitator of Teaching on the Run foundation workshops.
A workshop facilitated by Dr Fiona Lake was run over two days in August 2012 and further courses will be run in the new year.
There is no charge to attend the course, however participants must register on-line and be accepted by the program organisers. Register here to join the waiting list for future courses.
Professional Development Program for Registrars (PDPR)
It has been recognised for some time that in addition to their clinical responsibilities, registrars play a key role in the teaching, supervision and management of junior doctors, with very little formal training being offered to support them.
The Professional Development Program for Registrars (PDPR), described recently, as 'An eye opener and very useful in facing daily challenges' is a two day workshop aimed at developing a range of pertinent skills. Topics include effective teamwork, communication, conflict resolution and sessions designed to build participants' leadership and management capabilities.
This important leadership program continues to be rolled out to registrars across SA with several two day programs proposed for 2013.
Please refer to PDPR page for 2013 program dates and more information.
