Vocational accreditation

The SA MET Health Advisory Council is required to accredit and monitor trainee medical officer* positions in South Australian health facilities. SA MET currently accredits prevocational posts and is now working with medical speciality colleges to develop processes around the accreditation of vocational posts by sharing the information gathered when surveying facilities. It is envisaged that this will complement current College accreditation processes, aiming to preserve and strengthen College oversight of accreditation. Pilot trials of this approach will be evaluated collaboration with all stakeholders. Further information is provided in the briefing paper and FAQs below.
