Intern Applications
Registrations are now closed for Intern positions in 2011.
Offers
First Round Match - Monday, 19 July 2010
First round match apply to:
- South Australian graduates who are permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand; and Graduates of other medical faculties in Australia/New Zealand who are permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand who completed year 12 at a South Australian secondary school.
If South Australia has more positions available than the number of positions matched in the first round then match notifications will be sent out to:
- Graduates of other medical faculties in Australia/New Zealand (who are permanents residents of Australia/New Zealand).
Match notifications will be emailed on Monday, 19 July 2010 with the match to be accepted or declined by Friday, 30 July 2010.
Please note: Each applicant will be matched once only.
No referees are requested throughout the application process however you may wish to include them on your CV for the hospital to see once you have been matched to a position.
Subsequent Matching - 4 August 2010
Subsequent matching will take place on a fortnightly basis from 4 August 2010 as positions become available.
Matching will take place in the following order:
- Graduates of other medical faculties in Australia/New Zealand who are permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand.
- South Australian graduates who are not permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand but who are permitted to remain in Australia for their internship.
- Graduates of other medical faculties in Australia/New Zealand who are not permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand but who are permitted to remain in Australia for their internship.
- Where positions are vacant at the end of the above allocation process, offers will be made to overseas trained doctors from SA IMET's AMC/JMO database.

Please note:
Please provide the relevant documentation with your application:
- All applicants must provide a copy of their Curriculum Vitae (no more than 4 pages) which includes a paragraph outlining their Career Objectives/Goals.
- Permanent Residents of Australia/New Zealand and international students not studying at a South Australian University are required to attach a copy of their academic transcript for the 18 months prior to this application.
- I you are an international student you must provide a copy of your visa. Please note: International students are only eligible to apply if they are not sponsored to return to the country of sponsorship or if they have any limitations on their visa that does not allow them to continue to work in Australia.
- If you are applying for a 'Couple Application' please be sure to upload a jointly signed letter on both applications stating that you are seeking a joint placement.
- If you are applying for 'Special Consideration' please upload a letter of support from the Dean of the Medical School at your University.
