The Queen Elizabeth Hospital

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is part of the Adelaide Health Service and provides acute health services primarily to the western suburbs of Adelaide. TQEH is a 342 bed acute care teaching hospital and has a proud and strong tradition in the pursuit of excellence in clinical care, teaching and research.

TQEH opened its new $37.4m state-of-the-art 200-bed inpatient facility in February 2004 and is currently undergoing further redevelopment to accommodate remaining in-patient beds. This is Stage 2 of the overall redevelopment of TQEH, for which funding of $120 million has been provided. Stage 2 includes a new inpatient facility, is a temporary research building, as well as new administrative and education accommodation.

TQEH is affiliated with the University of Adelaide with professorial chairs in Cardiology, Medicine and Surgery.
