The Queen Elizabeth Hospital
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is part of the Central Northern Adelaide Health Service and provides acute health services primarily to the western suburbs of Adelaide. TQEH is a 342 bed acute care teaching hospital and has a proud and strong tradition in the pursuit of excellence in clinical care, teaching and research.
TQEH opened its new $37.4m state-of-the-art 200-bed inpatient facility in February 2004 and is currently undergoing further redevelopment to accommodate remaining in-patient beds. This is Stage 2 of the overall redevelopment of TQEH, for which funding of $120 million has been provided. Stage 2 includes a new inpatient facility, is a temporary research building, as well as new administrative and education accommodation.
TQEH is affiliated with the University of Adelaide with professorial chairs in Cardiology, Medicine and Surgery.
