Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for positions in 2011 in the combined hospital and health units training schemes doctors must be eligible for full registration in February 2011 with the Medical Board of South Australia.
All positions are recognised by the appropriate colleges except where indicated.
Period of appointment is 2 February 2011 to 31 January 2012 inclusive.
Positions available through the SA IMET process are full-time and a 12 month minimum term of appointment. If you are unable to fulfil this requirement you cannot apply through this process however you can negotiate with hospitals directly who will consider your circumstances and may be able to offer an alternative.
International Medical Graduates who are AMC candidates are eligible to apply if they have completed or will have completed an internship year or 12 months equivalent supervised training in compulsory rotations in Medicine, Surgery and Emergency Medicine. If you are an IMG still needing to complete an internship year you are not eligible to apply however SA IMET may still be able to assist you with finding employment.
